Earlier their 8th month, we introduced the boys to their first solid foods . . . first puffs (see earlier video), then pancakes, which we sadly failed to capture on film. This past weekend, we gave the boys their first tortilla and we weren't about to make the same mistake . . . enjoy the photo series below of Ethan having his first warm, flaky tortilla.
First pic . . . happy to see something new on the table, confidently mastering the hand to mouth exercises that have been his big focus during the 8th month . . .
Second pic . . . not quite sure of the texture . . . where's the crunch that he's become so accustomed to with his Puffs?
Third pic . . . clearly a big success and clearly proud of himself!
P.S. For those that have categorized Ethan as "the thinker" from his pics, this is a perfect example of the Ethan that we constantly enjoy off camera. He's a charmer, for sure.

Ethan in the Deadly Jumping Contraption
We decided to re-introduce the Jumparoo into the mix as we needed a "fresh" toy for the boys. Despite recalls too numerous to count (something about children being "unexpectedly forced out of the apparatus"), we felt it was a risk worth taking for an extra 5 minutes of joy during their day.

Life is easy - Dad stacks the cups, Ethan and Noel get to knock 'em down!
Firmly at the 8.5 month milestone and the boys are making incredibly strides . . . in the past couple of days, Ethan has learned to speak (Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da) and both boys are progressing from the army crawl to full on climbing . . . over each other, over Pai and Dad, over swings . . . we're definitely seeing incredibly fun bursts of personality and we're learning a lot about what's be fascinating to the boys before they had the benefit of movement.
Their favorite activity currently is knocking over anything that is stacked . . . attaching a quick video as Exhibit A, but its incredibly charming to move to the other side of the room, stack the cups and wait for the to notice . . . huge smiles and normally a huge competition to try and arrive to the stack first and slap it down (ARGH! CRASH! BOOM!) with a look of self-satisfaction.
We're in a very charming stage . . . hope everyone enjoys this.

Puffs for Everyone....
Here's a video I took yesterday of the boys eating their rice puffs. Two very different approaches.

Ethanol Photo of the Day
Courtesy of Avo while we were in NYC. I love how Noel is totally photo bombing the shot and looks like he's saying, "hey y'all, I can be cute, too!!"

First airplane experience . . . flying to Vail
Came across this pic on my phone this week and thought it was a fitting addition to the Vail story posted by Adam earlier in the month . . . in planning this trip, our largest source of planning axiety surrounded how our set of 7-month twins would handle travel, pressure, noise, other people, etc. In considering all of these aspects, Adam was able to persuade me to invest in an extra seat, which we would allocate to the boys in whatever capacity seemed best.
The picture below tells the story better than I could in a dissertation . . . proves both Adam's genius (Noel consumed the seat in a dead sleep for both directions) and the adaptability of our boys, who handled the trip better than their Pai and Dad did (tho Pai did get in a little nap of his own, evidenced within the pic).
